The Multiservice Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures for Nuclear, Biological,and Chemical (NBC) Protection is a manual designed to provide guidance on how military units can plan operations in possible nuclear,biological or chemical environments. The book focuses on providing MTTPs that address both individual as well as collective protection considerations with regards to protecting the force from these hazards.

It also covers civilian personnel protection considerations by highlighting risk management measures that should be taken when determining what NBC protective measures could be considered to mitigate risks of operating in such an environment. This guide serves as a foundation upon which development of multiservice manuals can take place while refining existing training support packages(TSPs), mission training plans(MTPs),training center exercises,and service school curricula.

In addition,the manual drives examination of organizations,materiel developments applicable to NBC protections.The audience targeted includes combatant commands,joint task forces(JTFs),functional/service component units & staff who may face challenges posed by operations within an NBC environment.This publication has been prepared under our direction for use by respective commands& other appropriate bodies.It's available at Army Knowledge Online(www.us.army.mil)&the General Dennis J.Reimer Training&Digital Library at www.adtdl.army.mil

Participating service command offices will review this publication; validate information; reference it in their own manuals/regulations/curricula according to their distribution systems.Army,Military,Navy& Air Force have specific directives regarding incorporation into their publications.Coast Guard will refer where necessary but no material contained herein should conflict with USCG regulations/directives issued by higher authority.
